Charity and Fundraising

This section of Survive Be Alive highlights some of the amazing stuff I’ve been involved with over the years and how I used charity and fundraising as a way to help me get through my treatment and how it has helped me since. There is also a little bit about charity work prior to cancer. There’s something so powerful and meaningful about charity work and raising funds for good causes. Since a young age I was taught to give and do things for others. My parents lead the way in this area and myself and my brothers followed suit.

I love charity and fundraising and everything it encompasses. I love the community spirit, the camaraderie, the unity, the link to the cause, the motivation, the drive. The fun. The selflessness. This area has helped me massively over the years. Prior to cancer I was always a very active supporter of charities, both professionally and privately. That sweet feeling and sensation of doing some good in the world and reaping the rewards of achievement at the same time.
